Last night, I slept better than I have in the last few months. Breakfast cereal even tastes better when you don't have to rush out the door. The sunshine is brighter. The air is fresher; I'm not sitting in traffic behind some smoggy truck on the 710 freeway.
The day is here and the day is mine. What shall I do? Take things slow.
I'm leaving for Arizona and will not check voicemails, emails, web sites, blogs, clocks--that's right, I won't even check the time. What did Erykah Badu say? "The world is mine when I wake up. I don't need nobody tellin' me the time."
Relax, read, rejoice and repeat. That is my recipe for August.
